Intergovernmental Relations Subcommittee Items

IGR Department
 1.  Federal/State/Local Update:
      a)  Transportation Reauthorization Act:  Federal update by Dennis McGrann/Lockridge Grindal Nauen;
      b)  National Mortgage Settlement:  Staff direction re offer support to Minnesota Attorney General in implementing the settlement.
      Action Taken:  a) Received & filed; b) Approved direction to the IGR staff to contact in writing the Minnesota Attorney General Lorri Swanson to offer support in implementing the national mortgage settlement.
 2.  State Property Tax Policy:
      Consider establishment of a property tax policy work group with participation from City staff, the City Council and the Mayor’s Office.

      Action Taken:  Approved.
 3.  FY2013 Federal Agenda for the City of Minneapolis re Foreclosure Prevention:
      Approve amendment to the federal agenda by adding language to the Policy Initiatives section relating to Foreclosure Prevention: Principal Reduction For Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Mortgages.

 4.   Target Center Implementation Committee:
       Approve resolution appointing City representatives & related actions (Action Taken 6/14/2012:  Postponed, as amended to substitute the name Tuthill for Colvin Roy for the City appointments; Action Taken 6/28/2012:  Postponed).

The Minneapolis Community Development Agency Board of Commissioners will meet upon adjournment of the City Council meeting of July 20, 2012.  The City Council meeting will adjourn to Room 315, City Hall, for the purpose of considering legal strategy for the Downtown East Ramp.
