Discussion Items

1. NRP Work Group:

Proposed structure and objectives for the City's relationship with neighborhoods going forward.

Actions Taken:

Postponed issuance of a Staff Direction to return to Committee of the Whole with an enabling resolution to create a Neighborhood and Community Advisory Board until after a public hearing takes place;

Received and filed amended report from NRP Work Group;

Established Committee of the Whole as the home committee for future discussions and actions related to the approval and implementation of the proposed structure and objectives for the City's relationship with neighborhoods going forward with referral of subject matter to standing committees as appropriate;

Referred the budget framework of the Administrative Support Allocations, Neighborhood Investment Fund, and Community Innovation Fund to the Ways & Means/Budget Committee for development of details related to the funding sources;

Scheduled an adjourned session of Committee of the Whole for August 20, 2008, at 5 pm to receive public comment on the content of the report received from the NRP Work Group on July 24, 2008.

1. Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America to present a $40,000 donation to the City on behalf of the Fire Department prior to the July 25, 2008 City Council Meeting.

2. Adjournment to Room 315, City Hall, for the purpose of discussing the matter of Arradondo, et al v. City of Minneapolis, et al, United States District Court File No. 07-CV-4736.
