Finding a Licensed Contractor

How to Hire a Contractor

Licensed contractors are required by law for certain types of permit work. It is unlawful to knowingly enter into a contract with an unlicensed contractor in these situations. Please call Minneapolis 311 for information regarding the specific situation. If calling from outside the Minneapolis city limits call (612) 673-3000.

The City of Minneapolis recently updated its permits and licensing system.  We have limited reports available at this time and the list of licensed contractors may not be complete.  Please call 311 or 612-673-3000 if you need to verify the license status of a contractor.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.
