Mayor Rybak Praises Governor Dayton’s Focus on Strong Cities, Downtowns
Vibrant, job-creating downtowns are key to Minnesota’s competitiveness
February 15, 2012 (MINNEAPOLIS) — Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak released the follow statement about Governor Mark Dayton’s State of the State address this evening:
“Tonight, Governor Dayton demonstrated once again that he understands the critical contribution of strong communities and strong downtowns to the economic health of our state. In Minneapolis, we’re proud that our downtown is home to the largest single concentration of jobs and employers in Minnesota. The City Council and I appreciate the Dayton Administration’s efforts to make downtown Minneapolis even more of a draw for jobs, employers, visitors and talent.
“Keeping job-creating downtowns vibrant across Minnesota — in Saint Paul, Duluth, Rochester, St. Cloud and all our cities — is an essential part of making our state economically competitive in the 21st century. And that’s every Minnesotan’s priority.”
