IRV Passes
Charter Amendment No. 161, the proposal to use Instant Runoff Voting in elections in City of Minneapolis municipal offices, passed on November 7, 2006 and was certified by a canvass of the Minneapolis City Council on November 13, 2006. See Results Archive.
The City’s goal is to implement IRV for the next municipal election which is scheduled to take place in November of 2009. Please check back for additional information on implementation of IRV after January 1, 2007.
