On February 25, 2010, the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support (MDHFS) will issue a Request for Proposals to provide lead poisoning prevention services through community education/outreach, in-home visits, and referrals for remediation.

The City of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Public Schools and the Minneapolis Police Department established a tip line to serve as another step toward violence awareness, education and prevention in the community while providing a new way for kids and community members to speak up and make a difference.

H1N1 Flu and Pandemic Flu

City of Minneapolis health and emergency management professionals have made extensive emergency preparedness plans to ensure the City can continue providing basic municipal services, even in the event of a widespread flu outbreak or a pandemic.

The Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support is also providing information about community services available to residents as well as general information about the H1N1 flu and seasonal flu.
