Lake Hiawatha Park Renovation – Call for Artists

RFP Summary
The City of Minneapolis is seeking artists to work with project architects and staff to design public artworks to be integrated elements of the Lake Hiawatha Park renovation. Possible sites within the park include paving, interior screening, railings or entryways, the wading pool area, seating or plaza.
An informational workshop for artists is planned for Friday, March 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m., at the offices of the Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association, 1830 E. 42nd Street in Minneapolis.
The Lake Hiawatha Park recreation center, wading pool and shoreline will be renovated between 2006 and 2009. Art applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007. A selection panel will interpret and review artists’ previous experience and proposed ideas based on the selection criteria.
