On April 17, 2007, the City received one proposal in response to a Request for Proposals for redevelopment. The Ackerberg Group and KMOJ Radio presented a proposal to rehabilitate the structure for commercial use and develop a landscaped surface parking lot on the two Penn parcels across the alley. The project is complete and KMOJ Radio is the second floor tenant. The Ackerberg Group is actively working to recruit tenants for the remaining vacant commercial space, including a full service restaurant. View Ackerberg proposal (PDF, 38 pages, 11.75 MB) |
RFP Summary
The Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) issued a Request for Proposals for properties owned by the City at 2119 West Broadway Avenue and 2310 and 2312 Penn Avenue N., at the southeast corner of Penn and West Broadway. The property is comprised of the former Delisi bar and grill building, its parking lot, and an adjacent vacant lot. Goals for redevelopment included neighborhood-oriented, pedestrian-scale mixed-use commercial/retail/office uses. The City sold the property through a Request for Proposals process and pursuant to the disposition policies and procedures of the agency.
The approximately $3 million project is now complete. Radio station KMOJ occupies the second floor and The Ackerberg Group is working to recruit tenants to the remaining commercial space.
