Modification No. 8 to the West Broadway Redevelopment Plan and Modification No. 114 to the Common Plan Available For Review
Public review period ends August 3, 2009
The City of Minneapolis is asking for input on the proposed Modification No. 8 to the West Broadway Redevelopment Plan and Modification No. 114 to the Common Development and Redevelopment and Common Tax Increment Financing Plan. The plan modifications will be available for public review until August 3, 2009. Please submit comments via e-mail to Erik Hansen, Principal Project Coordinator, Business Development (612-673-5022). The plan modifications add 21 properties to the list of Property That May Be Acquired and updates the Land Use Map, to facilitate the redevelopment of key commercial and higher-density multifamily housing sites on West Broadway. The developments include: renovation of two three-story commercial properties at 927 and 1001 Dupont Avenue North for new retail services; rehabilitation of an office building at 1314, 1400, and 1404 West Broadway; a mixed-use redevelopment next to the historic Capri theater on West Broadway; and construction of a three- to four-story mixed-income rental development at West Broadway and Logan Avenue North.
It is expected that the Community Development Committee will hold a public hearing on the proposed modifications at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. The hearing will be held in Minneapolis City Hall, 350 S. Fifth Street, Room 317. The full City Council is expected to consider the modifications at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009 in Room 317 City Hall.
