Modification No. 2 to the Franklin LRT Station Area Redevelopment Plan and Modification No. 113 to the Common Plan Available For Review
Public review period ends February 23, 2009
The City of Minneapolis is asking for input on the proposed Modification No. 2 to the Franklin LRT Station Area Redevelopment Plan and Modification No. 113 to the Common Development and Redevelopment Plan and Common Tax Increment Financing Plan. The draft will be available for public review until February 23, 2009. Please read and submit comments to Mark Garner, Senior Project Coordinator at (612) 673-5037. The plans are being modified to authorize public redevelopment activities necessary to facilitate and assist the proposed Franklin Station Project, a catalytic transit-oriented redevelopment project located along the LRT bike path approximately one block from the Franklin Avenue LRT station. The modifications designate 14 properties located near the intersection of East 22 nd Street and Minnehaha Avenue as property that may be acquired by the City. No properties are being added to or deleted from tax increment financing districts.
The Minneapolis City Council is expected to consider the proposed modifications on Friday, March 6, 2009 following a public hearing at the Community Development Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. The hearing will be held in Minneapolis City Hall, 350 S. Fifth Street, Room 317.
