The Lyndale Green TIF Plan has been prepared to facilitate the redevelopment of the Salem English Lutheran Church site at 28th Street West and Lyndale Avenue South. The mixed-use, mixed-income new construction project will provide 63 housing units, including 14 affordable units, and approximately 6,000 square feet of commercial space in a new four-story building to be built on the site of a surface parking lot and an addition to the church. The original church building will be renovated for joint use by two congregations.
It is expected that the Community Development Committee will hold a public hearing on the proposed TIF Plan at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. The hearing will be held in Minneapolis City Hall, 350 S. Fifth Street, Room 317. The full City Council is expected to consider the TIF Plan at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010, in City Hall Room 317.
