East Bank Mills Redevelopment Plan and Modification No. 10 to the Holmes Urban Renewal Plan
The City of Minneapolis is asking for input on the proposed East Bank Mills Redevelopment Plan and Modification No. 10 to the Holmes Urban Renewal Plan. Please submit comments by Monday, October 19 via e-mail to Matt Goldstein, Senior Project Coordinator, Multifamily Housing Development (612-673-5075). If you or your group would like to meet to discuss the proposed plans, or if you have any questions, please contact us. Your input is important.
The Redevelopment Plan establishes the East Bank Mills Redevelopment Project on the site of the former Pillsbury A Mill complex located generally between 2 nd and Main Streets Southeast and 3 rd and 6 th Avenues Southeast. Mill Development, LLC, an entity of Schafer Richardson, Inc., has proposed the rehabilitation of seven existing warehouse and milling structures and the construction of six new residential and mixed-use buildings. Modification No. 10 to the Holmes Urban Renewal Plan removes one half-block that is part of the larger proposed East Bank Mills Redevelopment Project from the Holmes Urban Renewal Area.
It is expected that the Community Development Committee will hold a public hearing on the proposed Redevelopment Plan and Modification at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. The hearing will be held in Minneapolis City Hall, 350 S. Fifth Street, Room 317. The full City Council is expected to consider the Redevelopment Plan and Modification at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009 in Room 317 City Hall.
