Ritz Theater
342-47 13th Avenue Northeast
The vision for the redevelopment of the Ritz Theater is to provide a professional quality, high profile performance venue in Northeast Minneapolis for Ballet of the Dolls to use as a permanent home. In addition to serving as the principal performing site for Ballet of the Dolls, the Ritz Theater would serve as a performing venue for other dance, theater and music events, as well as community events, providing a rich mix of activities. The renovated Ritz Theater will serve as a catalyst and nexus for revitalizing Northeasts 13th Avenue neighborhood.
The proposed rehab will include the reconfiguration of the 600-seat auditorium into a 221-seat performance space and studio space. It will also accommodate the Doll Shop School, provide office space for the company’s administrative functions, and provide a dedicated space for a full box office.
