Depot East
Bounded by Portland, Washington, and Fifth Avenues and Second Street South
The Depot East development, also known as Parcel C, will transform an entire block located east of the Milwaukee Road Depot complex from a parking lot into a vital area that will bring people to work, play, learn and live in the Historic Mills District. The design and uses of the development follow guidelines from the Update to the Historic Mills District Master Plan. The overall design for the area includes several elements:
- A four-story building with offices, a restaurant and retail space
- Twenty-two units of market-rate, owner-occupied housing
- A 299-space parking facility with private garages for residents. All of the parking will be below-grade or hidden by the buildings.
- A new home for the MacPhail Center for the Arts.
In addition, the project will result in $320,000 being contributed to the MCDA's affordable housing fund.
