Armadillo Flats
2727 & 2743 First Avenue South
Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL) is proposing to acquire and rehabilitate the Armadillo Flats property, which was originally developed by Whittier Alliance in 1985. PPL proposes to create a new ownership structure for the project.
Preservation of this affordable housing resource serving primarily large, low-income families is a high priority for the neighborhood and the city. Rents will be affordable at incomes below 50 percent of area median. (Rents will be increased over time; assistance will be provided for tenants who experience "economic displacement" as defined by HUD.) PPL has applied for Section 8 project-based assistance for eight units.
