More: |
The STEP-Up program provides exceptional youth development activities as well as gainful employment. The program is designed to teach youth good work habits while providing them with the opportunity to contribute to their community. Youth work between 20-40 yours/week for 6-10 weeks, earning $6.55 to $10.00 per hour at local private and public sector employers. STEP-UP youth gain more than meaningful work experience and wages! Youth, ages 14-15, attend an educational component that allows for the opportunity to earn high school credit during the summer, may participate in a mentorship program and/or attend an environmental summer camp. Youth, ages 16-21, receive pre-employment training certified by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce and may participate in on-going educational workshops throughout the summer. |
