Dec 13, 2004 (MINNEAPOLIS) The Minneapolis Public Library and the City of Minneapolis are seeking proposals for the redevelopment of the Walker Library site.
The Library and the City are seeking mixed-use transit-oriented proposals that will create a long-term vision for this corner with a greatly enhanced landmark Walker library facility that accommodates improved library services for the community.
Development objectives call for a design that will establish a library with a strong and prominent presence, be consistent with current zoning, maximize operational efficiency of the library functions, provide below grade parking and allow creative mixed-use development options.
An optional pre-proposal conference and tour has been schedule for 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 in the first floor conference room at Walker Library, 2880 Hennepin Ave. S.
Development proposals are due by Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 by 4 p.m.
