Non-profit employers invited to provide jobs for
STEP-UP youth age 14 and 15
Former STEP-UP graduates.
The Minneapolis Employment and Training Program (METP) is accepting applications from local non-profit agencies that would like to have youth, age 14 and 15, in the STEP-UP Program work for them next summer. The program provides youths, whose wages are subsidized through the program, opportunities for career exploration and development.
For most participants, STEP-UP is their first job. They work 30 hours a week for nine weeks beginning in June.
Participating employers are required to provide a job description and information about the work the STEP-UP participant will be doing.
The STEP-UP RFP is available online (pdf) along with Job descriptions (pdf).
METP will answer questions relating to the development of STEP-UP proposals at a Community Information Session Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, 9-10 a.m. in conference room 1 of the North WorkForce Center at 1200 Plymouth Ave. N. Agencies that are new to the STEP-UP Program are especially encouraged to attend. Please email Anne Fischer at anne.fischer@minneapolismn.gov for more information or to RSVP.
The program is funded through federal, state and local sources.
Proposals are due at the METP office no later than 4 p.m. Jan. 4, 2008.
