STEP-UP applications accepted through Jan. 5, 2007
The Minneapolis Employment and Training Program (METP) is accepting applications from local non-profit agencies that would like to have youths in the Younger Youth STEP-UP Program work for them next summer. The program provides youths, whose wages are subsidized through the program, opportunities for career exploration and development.
Most of the participants are 14 or 15 years old and STEP-UP is often their first job. They work 30 hours a week for nine weeks beginning in June.
Participating employers are required to provide a job description and information about the work the STEP-UP participant will be doing.
The program is funded through federal, state and local sources.
Proposals are due at the METP office no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007.
