Pillsbury A Mill meeting set for Dec. 13

A meeting will be held to update area residents about plans for the Pillsbury A Mill property, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Mill City Museum, 704 Second St. S. The meeting is hosted by the west bank representative to the task force established by the Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association to provide input on the proposed project.

The meeting will include a presentation about the proposed project, which includes approximately 1,000 residential units and 100,000 square feet of commercial space. The 7.9-acre site is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River across from Downtown Minneapolis and is bounded by Second Street Southeast, Main Street South, and Third and Sixth avenues Southeast.

The proposal consists of renovating five historic buildings, including the Pillsbury A Mill, which is a National Historic Landmark, and constructing several new residential buildings varying in height from eight stories to 27 stories.

The developer, SchaferRichardson, Inc., will make a formal presentation and answer questions.
