"Pages" dedicated at East Lake Library opening

A new public art project will be dedicated at the Grand Reopening of East Lake Library Saturday, March 3, 2007, 1-6 p.m., 2727 East Lake Street.

"Pages," an etched glass piece, was created by Janet Lofquist. The public art project is based on text selections from the library’s collection. Defined by sandblasted glass, the design of the work is intended to resemble the profile of a book’s pages, suggesting an infinite layering of buried knowledge. The selected excerpts emphasize the range of subject matter, along with important cultural and historical contributions, that make up the collection.
