The City of Minneapolis is will host a pre-proposal conference for the Nicollet Hotel Block, Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 in the second floor atrium of the Crown Roller Mill Building, 105 Fifth Ave. S. in Minneapolis. Attendance is encouraged to learn more about the city’s development efforts and to participate in a question and answer period about this project.
The City is requesting proposals for the redevelopment of the former site of a historic hotel. The block is considered the gateway to Downtown Minneapolis. It borders the emerging Minneapolis Central Public Library and is located on two landmark arterials: Nicollet Mall and Hennepin Avenue. The new Hiawatha Light Rail line runs two blocks away.
Development objectives call for a mixed-use transit oriented project that will include a publicly funded underground transit terminal, up to 300 units of rental or ownership housing, structured residential parking, and convenience retail.
Development proposals are due by 4 p.m. Central Standard Time, Friday, Nov. 19.
