Minneapolis to update comprehensive plan
The City of Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) is updating The Minneapolis Plan: the City of Minneapolis Comprehensive Plan. A series of public meetings and other forums will be scheduled as the update progresses. Information on opportunities to provide input will be available on the CPED website.
The comprehensive plan provides an analysis of trends that affect the future of the City; a vision for the future of the City; and guidance to elected officials, city staff, business, neighborhoods and other constituents that informs the decisions they make.
The plan is prepared and updated in accordance with state law, including Municipal Planning Enabling Act (1965) and Metropolitan Land Planning Act (1995), as amended.
The full update is due to the Metropolitan Council by early 2008 to meet regional planning requirement. It was last fully updated in 2000. See the existing Minneapolis Plan on our website.
