CPED to host 46 th and Hiawatha meeting
The Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED), in partnership with a Citizen Advisory Committee, is hosting a public meeting to solicit input into the study of the 46 th Street and Hiawatha LRT station area Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Hiawatha Community School Gymnasium, 4201 42nd Ave. S.
This meeting will focus on environmentally sustainable development and performance criteria for evaluating proposed designs for "green" infrastructure improvements. The public will also be invited to give input on detailed alternative development scenarios that seek to achieve the goals of the adopted 46 th Street and Hiawatha LRT Station Area Master Plan
Following the meeting, a consultant team, led by Olsson Associates, will continue to work with the Citizen Advisory Committee, which includes neighborhood residents, businesses and property owners, and other public agencies, to refine the technical analysis and community input into final design concepts, priorities, and an implementation action plan.
A presentation of the findings and recommendations will be made at a final public open house, followed by additional meetings with the local neighborhood groups, in early 2008. For more information, please contact Mark Garner at (612) 673-5037 or mark.garner@minneapolismn.gov.
