Meeting set to review 1101 West Broadway proposals

Input wanted on three proposals

The City of Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development will host a public meeting to review proposals for a development at 1101 West Broadway, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at North Commons Park, 1701 Golden Valley Road.

In September 2005 the City sent out a request for proposals for renovation of the existing city owned structure for neighborhood-oriented, pedestrian-scale, mixed-use commercial/retail/office uses.

Each developer will have approximately 20 minutes to present its concept. Questions will be allowed on each concept and at the end of the three presentations there will be a 30-minute discussion on the three proposals. No ranking will occur at this meeting.

City staff will lead a development primer and site review from 6-6:25 p.m. at the same location. Anyone who would like a refresher is invited.

The Minneapolis City Council will make the final decision on which proposal is accepted based on a staff-team report and ranking (expected in late March) and input from residents.
