City Coordinator's Office

The City Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and direction in the coordination of Minneapolis City government within the general guidelines established by the City Charter, the Mayor and the City Council. The Coordinator advises the Mayor and the Council regarding the impact of elected official's policy decisions, while overseeing representation of City interests in metropolitan, county, state and federal activities.

Some major areas of accountability for the Coordinator are:

  1. Acts as an advisor and consultant to the Mayor and the City Council and makes recommendations relating to projects, policies and programs;
  2. Oversees financial operations and participates in the development of the City's annual budget for presentation to the City Council;
  3. Keeps the Mayor and City Council informed of all important developments which may affect the administration of the City;
  4. Coordinates ongoing City projects, policies and programs established by the Mayor or City Council; and
