Section 3 Resident Application

 
To qualify as a Section 3 Resident, you must be either:
1.       A public housing resident, OR
2.       A low- or very low-income person residing in the metropolitan statistical area where the HUD assisted project is located.
 
“Low income” is determined by the following income limits:

To apply you must:
1.       Complete and sign the HUD Section 3 Resident Certification Application
2.       Provide proof of residency. Examples of acceptable documentation include:
a.       copy of a current utility bill,
b.      copy of lease, or
c.       other formal documentation or statement of residency
3.       Provide proof of income. Income documentation must include all members of your household (i.e. you plus your spouse or domestic partner). Examples of acceptable documentation include:
a.       Most recent personal income tax return
b.      Most recent W-2
c.       Proof of unemployment or social security benefits
4.       Complete the Areas of Expertise Questionnaire
5.       Submit application and documentation to: contractcompliance@minneapolismn.gov
