26th St and Hiawatha LRT Trail Crossing Improvements
In 2020, the City of Minneapolis will undertake improvements to the trail crossing at 26th St E and Hiawatha Ave next to the Light Rail Train track.
To improve safety across this highly traveled intersection, Public Works has been undertaking improvements. In 2018 and 2019, the signals were upgraded at this trail crossing. In 2020, the trail crossing distance will be reduced. A bump out will be constructed and the pedestrian ramps will be upgraded to become ADA compliant.
