Winter St Residential Paving

Project Type:
The project consists of full reconstruction of the oiled dirt streets that were not completed with the Residential Paving Program within the project area.  This consists at a minimum of full removal of existing street surface, subgrade correction, aggregate base, asphalt paving, curb and gutter signage and drive entrance reconstruction.

Project Limits:
The project is located in Ward 1, and includes Winter St NE from the Cul-de-sac to 15th Ave NE, Ulysses St NE from the dead end to Winter St NE, Garfield St NE from Hennepin Ave to Winter St NE, 14th Ave NE from Hennepin Ave to the dead end, 15th Ave NE from Hennepin Ave to Winter St NE, and 16th Ave NE from Hennepin Ave to the dead end.

Construction Start Date:
Major work activities are currently scheduled to start in April 2013.  Access to properties during construction will be through the construction zone and routes may be limited/rerouted during active construction.

Length of Construction:
The project is scheduled to be completed in one construction season.

Traffic Impact:
Traffic impacts will depend on the stage and type of construction activities.  Further details will be provided when construction activities commence.

Project Updates:
4-16-2013 Update: 
A public meeting to answer questions regarding the upcoming construction is set for April 24th, 2013, at 5:30PM.  The meeting will be held at the Van Cleve Recreation Center located at 901 15th Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

4-5-2013 Update: 
CenterPoint Gas (Michels Pipeline) will start field work on Tuesday, April 9th, 2013. 
3-13-2013 Update: 
The project is approved and is planned to proceed this spring.  Please read the attached letter regarding the construction.  A public meeting with more construction details will be scheduled in April.  The City is looking forward to providing you with a fresh roadway!
