Winter St Residential Paving

Project Type:
The project consists of full reconstruction of the oiled dirt streets that were not completed with the Residential Paving Program within the project area.  This consists at a minimum of full removal of existing street surface, subgrade correction, aggregate base, asphalt paving, curb and gutter signage and drive entrance reconstruction.

Project Limits:
The project is located in Ward 1, and includes Winter St NE from the Cul-de-sac to 15th Ave NE, Ulysses St NE from the dead end to Winter St NE, Garfield St NE from Hennepin Ave to Winter St NE, 14th Ave NE from Hennepin Ave to the dead end, 15th Ave NE from Hennepin Ave to Winter St NE, and 16th Ave NE from Hennepin Ave to the dead end.

Construction Start Date:
Major work activities are currently scheduled to start in April 2013.  Access to properties during construction will be through the construction zone and routes may be limited/rerouted during active construction.

Length of Construction:
Major construction activities for the Winter St project are wrapping up.  Manholes are being raised on Winter St, Ulysses Ave and 16th Ave in preparation for the final lift of asphalt.  This last lift of asphalt is planned for Saturday, November 2nd.  We still have work on the boulevard and asphalt patching behind the driveways and parking lots to complete.  T-sawing for crack control will follow.

Traffic Impact:
Traffic impacts will depend on the stage and type of construction activities.  Further details will be provided when construction activities commence.
