Project Details

Project Type:
The project consists of full reconstruction of the streets. This consists of full removal of existing street surface, subgrade correction, aggregate base, paving, curb and gutter, signage and drive entrance reconstruction. Sidewalks, streetscape elements, and utility work will be completed as needed.

Project Limits:
6th Avenue North is located north of downtown on 6th Avenue North between 5th St N and dead end north of Washington Ave.

Duration of Construction:
Anticipated completion in October 2016

Traffic Impact:
The 6th Avenue North project area will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction.

Project FAQ

Project Updates

September 9, 2016: Construction continues. The contractor is currently working on street surfacing and concrete intersection construction. Work will continue through October. Remaining work includes street surfacing, sign installation, and lighting.

June 8, 2016: The contractor has started work salvaging brick pavers for re-use on the new roadway and removing existing road and sidewalk between 5th and 3rd Streets and north of Washington Avenue North.
