31st St E Resurfacing

Project Type:
Resurface asphalt driving surface.  31st St E was originally paved in 1961.

Project Limits:
31st St E from Bloomington Ave S to cul-de-sac east of 23rd Ave S.

Construction Start Date:
Project completed on July 30, 2015.

Duration of Construction:
Two to three weeks.

Traffic Impact:
Short term road closures and detours, restrictions to access for park and ride at 23rd Ave, sudden stops and flaggers controlling traffic.  The street will also be posted no parking.

Pre-payment Information:
Prepayment is made to the Minneapolis Finance Department. Pay statements are sent only by request and the taxpayer is solely responsible for obtaining said statement. Full prepayments may be accepted only through December 31st, 2015 without interest. Partial prepayments are not provided for. No further notice of prepayment will be published. Persons who wish to prepay the entire assessment lump sum without interest charges may do so by contacting the Minneapolis City Engineer's Special Assessment Office, 309 2nd Ave S, Room 209, Minneapolis, MN 55401-2268, or telephone (612)673-2401.

Project Updates:
May 19, 2015: Concrete work (curb & gutter, driveway and alley aprons) has started.
July 28, 2015: Pavement milling operations are complete. The first of two asphalt lifts was placed on the road on July 27. The final lift of asphalt will be placed on the roadway later this week, weather permitting.
