26th & 28th Streets East, 

Project Type:
Resurface asphalt driving surface, minor curb and concrete replacement, and pedestrian ramp replacement.
26th St E was paved between 1962 and 1967.
28th St E was paved between 1960 and 1967.  Portions of 28th Street were resurfaced in 2014 by a private utility contractor.

Construction Start Date:
June 2015 - Sawing and replacing select curb and gutter, alley approaches, and other miscellaneous concrete structures that are planned to be corrected as part of the project. 
Asphalt mill and overlay work on 26th street will start the week of July 6th.  Asphalt mill and overlay work on 28th street will start later in the same week.

Duration of Construction:
For resurfacing the street, the street will be closed for about two days in front of a home or business.  The days may or may not be consecutive.  For concrete work, it will take about nine days at each replacement location.  Each street will take about one week to complete.  Private utility work may take place ahead of resurfacing the street in some locations.

Traffic Impact:
Coordinated road closures with posted detours, parking restrictions, lane shifts, intermittent short term dead end alley closures, and short term road closures.  Some of the cross streets closed when milling and paving 26th and 28th streets.
