Board of Estimate and Taxation

Purpose	As required by the City Charter, the Board of Estimate & Taxation holds public hearings to obtain citizen input relating to setting the maximum tax levies for certain tax funds in the City. See the Board of Estimate & Taxation website for more information.

Number of Members	The Board consists of six members: the Mayor or designate, the City Council President, the chairman of the Ways and Means/Budget Committee, a commissioner of the Park and Recreation Board, and two members elected city-wide for four-year terms. The support staff for this Board consists of an executive secretary to the Board.
