Preliminary sample concepts for the Central Avenue Bicycle Planning project were shared at a neighborhood meeting on July 30th. Feedback from past meetings is being used to narrow the concepts down to a preferred alternative. Staff recommended layouts will be presented at another public meeting at the Northeast Library on September 29th at 6:00 p.m. Feedback continues to be collected at Public Feedback.

Preliminary conceptual layouts (pdf) for the Central Avenue Bicycle Planning study were shared with the Eastside Bicycle Task Force in January. The scope was narrowed down to examine Central Avenue between 37th and Hennepin Avenues. A redraft is now circulating internally. Council members along the project will be engaged in the coming weeks, with public meetings anticipated to be held in June. Bicycle counts will be held along Central Avenue in May. Anticipated completion is July 2009.

Work on the Central Avenue study has begun, where the feasibility of bike lanes between 2nd Street S and 37th Avenue NE is being examined.
