2008 Bicycle Count Report
The 2008 Bicycle Count Report is now available. Bicycle counts have been conducted at 128 locations in Minneapolis, thanks to the help of 120 volunteers in 2007 and 2008. Findings include:
- The number of bicyclists increased 15% at 30 locations, between 2007 and 2008.
- 15th Avenue SE north of 5th Street is the busiest known location for bicyclists in Minneapolis, with an estimated 3,570 bicyclists per day.
- East River Parkway north of Franklin Avenue carries the highest bicyclist mode share (17%) among 65 locations, when compared to pedestrian, auto, and transit counts.
