Bicycle Advisory Committee Resolution

To: Minneapolis City Council, Minneapolis Public Works

From: Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee

Date: July 24, 2019

Subject:  Minneapolis’s First Traffic Garden

Minneapolis’s First Traffic Garden

The Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee supports the Minneapolis Health Department’s proposal to build Minneapolis’ first Traffic Garden. This proposal would bring much needed biking and walking education to communities that do not always have access to it, including people with disabilities, people of color, and low-income communities. As the City moves forward in adopting its Transportation Action Plan, education and encouragement strategies like this Traffic Garden will support all communities in using new bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. The BAC commends the Health Department for this effort.
