Rescue Group Application
Thank you for your interest in becoming an approved rescue group. If you represent a 501(c)3 rescue organization and would like to become a rescue partner with Minneapolis Animal Care and Control, please request an application from Camille.McArdle@minneapolismn.gov. Our greatest need is for groups that can care for cats and powerful breed dogs (Pit Bull, Rottweiler, etc.)
Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (or MACC) has a long history of partnering with a variety of animal rescue groups. If we cannot find a pet’s original owner within the mandatory Minnesota Statutory waiting period, we make the animal available to the general public for adoption. If the animal is not readily adopted or if the pet needs specialized care, MACC will make the pet available to rescue groups.
If you are interested in fostering a MACC animal available for rescue transfer, please see our Animal Rescue Group page and apply with one of our approved groups to be a foster. If you have specific questions on this topic or an animal please email email@example.com.
MACC does have it's own foster program for animals that have minor needs to become adoptable (i.e. kittens needing to be weaned.) If you are interested in being a foster for MACC directly please apply online to be a volunteer.
If you are interested in adopting an animal from MACC please see our list of available animals. All adoptions take place at the shelter and are done in-person. We have an application available to be printed and filled out ahead of time, but all paperwork is done at the time of the adoption - we do not accept online applications or do pre-approvals.
